No Material is
More Versatile, Beautiful, or Useful to work with than Wood.

Woodworking is our largest studio, spanning nearly 2,000 square feet and equipped with tools for woodworkers of all levels. Students can learn the basics of hand tools, try their hand at bowl turning, or build custom furniture projects. All classes are led by our founder, Mark Andreas.

Winter Semester *

Will you be joining us this winter semester? Each semester is 7 weeks long (unless stated) and will meet once a week. See below for available classes and dates. Registration will open on January 9th. All woodworking classes will begin on the week of January 19th.

Woodworking Classes with Mark Andreas and Herb Thomas

This 7-week course introduces the fundamentals of woodworking, with a focus on safe and proper use of tools such as saws, chisels, gouges, scrapers, and hand planes. Students typically begin with two foundational projects: carving a wooden spoon and building a small keepsake box. As students become more comfortable with hand tools and studio equipment, they are encouraged to take on more complex projects. Each semester is priced at $550 for 7 weekly classes.

  • "Making dreams into reality. Never been a woodworker but within a year of starting classes with Mark, I had built a dining room table. One of the most rewarding experiences of my life."

    Gauri Gidwani

  • "The class is fun. The instructors are very knowledgeable and focus on safety. Students first learn how to use hand tools through a simple project and then are introduced to the power tools. I signed up for a second class b/c I really enjoyed building the first two projects. The class is filled with people of all levels. The selection and quality of tools enables an experienced student to build sophisticated items or a novice to improve their woodworking skills."

  • "The new studio is gorgeous! Mark is a great instructor. You do a lot of hands on work, but with right amount or supervision."
